How does saving work?
The game saves by itself, a moment after each move and when you leave the app. Your games stay on your phone. When iCloud is on, the game also keeps a copy in your own iCloud, and the Settings page of the game says so. There is no account to make. To play again, open the app and tap Continue on the title screen. To stop on purpose, open the menu in the game and tap Save and go to the title.
Deleting the app deletes your games. Offloading the app (iPhone Settings, General, iPhone Storage) keeps them.
How do I move my game to a new phone?
If iCloud is on for the game on both phones, sign in to the same Apple account on the new phone, install the game and open it. Your games come back after a short wait. Otherwise use your phone's own backup. The game keeps a save file in its own folder, and the backup of your phone includes it.
- On the old phone, make a backup after you play: iCloud Backup, or a backup to a computer. Wait until it finishes.
- When you set up the new phone, restore from that backup.
- Open Grounds Up and tap Continue.
This works only if backups are turned on. Without iCloud or a backup the game cannot move a game by itself, because it has no account.
How do I get the game back on a new phone?
Open the App Store on the new phone and sign in with the same Apple account that bought Grounds Up. Search for the game or find it in your purchased apps, and download it again. You do not pay twice for the same Apple account. There is nothing to restore inside the game, because the game has no purchases of its own. Your saved games come with the backup of your old phone: see the answer above about moving your game to a new phone.
What do I pay, and is there anything else to buy?
Grounds Up is a paid app. You pay once, on the App Store, when you get it. After that every week of every game is open, with no limit and nothing locked. There is nothing else to buy: no in-app purchases, no subscription, no add-ons and no ads. The game does not track you. Apple shows the price in your own currency before you get the app.
Is the money real?
No. All companies, people and money in the game are made up. Nothing here is financial advice. The game does not connect to a real bank, a real market or a real account.
Does the game need the internet?
No. You can play on a plane. The game uses the internet only to ask the App Store once a day if a newer version exists (it sends only the app ID and the country of your App Store), and your iPhone uses it to copy your games to iCloud when iCloud is on. Your phone also needs a connection to download the game from the App Store, or to update it.
Can I get a refund?
Apple handles refunds for purchases in the App Store, and we cannot refund a purchase ourselves. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple account and ask Apple there.
